Learn to Think Critically and Creatively
At Concordia University Irvine, the School of Arts and Sciences prepares you to engage the world with curiosity, courage, and compassion.
Rooted in the Lutheran liberal arts tradition, our programs invite you to ask big questions, wrestle with enduring ideas, and explore how faith and reason work together to reveal truth. You’ll investigate the wisdom of the past, apply it to the challenges of the present, and carry it into a future where you can serve others with confidence and purpose.
Our goal is simple: to help you grow into a wise, honorable, and cultivated citizen who’s ready to think critically, act ethically, and lead faithfully in any vocation.

Marine Lab
Founded in 2014, the Concordia Marine Lab offers hands-on opportunities for students, researchers, and community members to explore and understand marine life.
The facility includes a 2,000-gallon recirculating seawater system housing more than 50 local marine species — from jellyfish to sharks — and serves as a center for education, outreach, and discovery.
Through the Marine Lab Outreach Program, Concordia provides free educational mobile touch tanks and marine science lessons to public schools and community events, helping to foster ocean literacy throughout Orange County.
Since 2016, the program has served more than 20,000 students and community members, with support from organizations including California SeaGrant, the California Coastal Commission, and the Orange County Community Foundation.
