How to Pay for School
Concordia offers a variety of payment methods and payment plans. Explore how to pay for school and learn more about your student bill, refunds, holds, and fees.

Applying for Financial Aid
The following steps will help guide you through our financial aid process. If at any point you have questions or need assistance, please contact us.
Dates and deadlines

| August 7 | Final deadline for all financial aid documents. Please note additional documents may be requested to complete your financial aid file after this date. All additional documents must be submitted 14 days prior to the close of the term. |
| September 1 | FAFSAs submitted on or after this date will not be eligible for any need-based institutional aid. |
Step 1
Create your FSA ID. You — and a parent if you are a dependent student — need to create an FSA ID online. Your FSA ID remains the same from year to year, so keep it in a safe place and never share it with anyone.
Step 2
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for need-based aid, federal grants, work-study, and loans. To have your information sent to Concordia University Irvine, make sure to include our school code: 013885.
Step 3
California residents may qualify for Cal Grant A or B. Complete the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form, postmarked or emailed no later than March 2 (use code: 02070500). Before submitting, check with your high school to see if it was already electronically sent.
Step 4
Read all communications received from the Financial Aid Office and provide any requested documentation at your earliest convenience. The first communication will first go by U.S. Mail. All subsequent requests are sent via email. Once you receive notification you have an Eagles email, please activate it immediately.
Access Your Financial Aid Offer
An Email will be sent to your Eagles email once your Financial Aid Offer letter is ready to view.
- Log into MyRecords.
- Click on the ‘Student’ tab
- Then select ‘Financial Aid’
- To view your offer, click on ‘Financial Aid Offer’
- At the top, you will see your estimated Cost of Attendance. This is a tool used for financial aid purposes only and does not reflect your actual bill.
- Financial Aid packages will be broken down into 3 possible categories:
- Grants and Scholarships – will only appear if you have grants or scholarships
- Work – will only appear if you are offered Federal Work Study
- Loans
- Review each section carefully
- If you have an offer available, a box will appear in the column on the right labeled ‘Take Action’
- Select your decision from the drop down
- ‘Accept All’ will accept the full offer
- ‘Decline All’ will decline the entire offer
- ‘Modify’ will allow you to type in a partial amount for each semester listed
- Once you have set your decision(s), click on the blue ‘Submit’ button
- If you select the Modify option, you will first need to hit the blue ‘Ok’ button to save your modified acceptance.
- Before you can submit your decision, a Terms and Conditions pop up box will appear. You must acknowledge the Terms and Conditions by checking the box at the bottom.
- Once you have checked the acknowledgement box, click on the ‘Accept Award’ button to submit your decision.
- If you are a first-time Federal Direct Loan borrower at Concordia, you must complete Entrance Counseling and electronically sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN).

To View Missing Requirements:
- Log into MyRecords.
- Click on the ‘Student’ tab
- Select ‘Financial Aid’
- You will be directed to the Requirements page
- If you have any missing requirements they will appear at the top of this page.
- Click on the hyperlink of each missing requirement for more information
- Please note that you cannot submit documents via MyRecords.
Helpful Hints for MYRECORDS:
- MyRecords now uses the same credentials as your campus email, Canvas, and other institution services. You will now use one password for all your CUI accounts.
- Make sure that when bookmarking MyRecords the link is as follows: https://myrecords.cui.edu. Bookmarking normally will add extra text to the url so in order to avoid this you will need to bookmark it through the bookmark manager. For information on how to bookmark using bookmark manager please see the following knowledge base article.
- If you run into any issues with error pages when trying to navigate to MyRecords try clearing the cache.

Financial Aid FAQs
Who can apply for financial aid?
You can apply for financial aid if:
- You are a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident, or other eligible non citizen
- You have been accepted for admission or readmission to Concordia University
- You are enrolled, or plan to enroll in a program of study leading to a degree
- You will maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress toward that degree
- You have completed all the application procedures as outlined
How is your financial aid determined?
Financial aid is based on a combination of a student’s financial need and merit-based aid (aid based on a student’s talent or academic ability such as academics, athletics, music, theatre, or forensics).
Cost of Attendance (COA) minus Student Aid Index (SAI) equals Financial Need.
- COA is determined by tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, board, transportation, and miscellaneous and personal expenses.
- SAI is calculated by the federal government using the information you provide on the FAFSA. The SAI is not the dollar amount of aid you will receive or what your family is expected to provide. It is an eligibility index number used by financial aid professionals to help create a financial aid offer.
