Fall & Spring Semesters

Concordia University Irvine partners with “International Student Exchange Program” (ISEP), a non-profit organization, to connect students with a broad array of semester-abroad programs across a spectrum of disciplines. With ISEP, students have unmatched access to high-quality academic opportunities, authentic local experiences, and exceptional support.

ISEP has over 40 years of experience partnering with universities and colleges internationally. Their promise for study abroad partners and students includes prioritizing students’ health and safety, support through ISEP Student Service Officers, and country-specific resources to equip students for their semester abroad.

Academics

Our partnership with ISEP not only benefits Concordia students as they study abroad, but through an exchange program, we welcome international students who study on campus for a semester or full academic year. Concordia students will directly enroll in an institution abroad and will take classes with local students and other study abroad students from around the world.

Course offerings with our ISEP universities are constantly changing from year to year. Concordia students are required to seek approval through the Registrar’s substitution form process for their study abroad courses. Contact the Moon International Center to review a list of pre-approved courses or to assist you in identifying courses for your semester abroad with ISEP.

  • Pay attention to the semester start/end dates. Not all academic calendars match the U.S. semester system. You will not be permitted to apply to any universities that conflict with the instruction dates of Concordia University Irvine, see the traditional undergraduate academic calendar as a reference.
  • Identify courses that match your grad plan. Outline a list of 5-8 courses for each of the universities you want to apply to. Remember that you must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units that count as progress toward your degree. Countries may vary based on their credit system.
  • Consider the “chance of placement” at each university. It’s required to rank a “Most Competitive” university as your number one choice. It’s recommended that you select universities with varying degrees of placement to diversify your application.
