Social Media

Using social media as a communication tool requires assessment, planning, goal setting, reporting, and ongoing monitoring. Effective social media strategy begins with understanding your audience and aligning platforms and tactics to clearly defined goals.

At Concordia University Irvine, our social media efforts focus on credibility, authentic engagement, increased online visibility, and converting digital interaction into meaningful on-campus participation.

The Social Media Manager serves as a resource, strategist, and promoter to support University programs in achieving these goals.

Concordia University Irvine uses a hub-and-spoke model for social media governance. This model supports brand consistency while allowing programs and departments to engage their specific audiences.

  • The Social Media Manager serves as the centralized hub.
  • Social Media Community Managers are staff or faculty members across campus who manage approved department-specific social media accounts.
  • Community Managers are responsible for engaging audiences, promoting their areas of expertise, and advocating for Concordia’s brand within approved guidelines.

A complete list of official Concordia University Irvine social media accounts, contests, and platform guidelines is available on the University’s Social Media information page.
