Professional Licensure
Per 34 CFR 668.43(a)(5)(v), for programs intended to lead to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment in an occupation, Concordia University Irvine is required to disclose the states in which the university has determined that the curriculum meets or does not meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification.
While some programs at the university are intended to prepare students to sit for licensure or certification in the state of California, completion of any program by itself does not guarantee licensure or certification in any state or territory.
Professional licensure and certification requirements vary by state or territory. Some states may have additional licensure or certification requirements such as professional examinations, background checks, years of work experience, fingerprinting, etc.
Please click the program links below to view a list of current determinations regarding state educational requirements for licensure or certification.

Does This Program Meet Requirements for Licensure in My State?
Concordia University Irvine continually evaluates whether its programs meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification outside the state of California. Students who are considering an academic program that may allow them to pursue professional licensure or certification are strongly encouraged to review the information for their program of interest listed below, contact the appropriate licensing agency to seek information, and seek additional guidance from the program for any state in which they wish to obtain licensure or certification prior to applying to the program.
Potential Changes in Requirements
Licensure information is regularly reviewed and updated on this site. While Concordia strives to provide the most up-to-date information, state licensure and certification requirements may change at any time. While a program may originally meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification, changes in requirements could impact the program's ability to meet any new educational requirements. The university urges all applicants to visit the board responsible for licensure or certification in any state in which they wish to obtain licensure or certification for the most current licensure or certification requirements.
Important Note for Relocating During the Course of a Program
Should a prospective or current student relocate to a state, territory or country in which the university is not authorized to provide distance education or otherwise exempt, continued enrollment cannot be guaranteed. This may also impact whether that student can meet educational requirements for licensure or certification, receive financial aid funding, and/or veteran's benefits. If students are considering relocating they should contact their program to check for authorization and licensure eligibility requirements.
Before relocating, the student should consult with their program advisor and notify the Office of the Registrar ([email protected]).
