Educational Administration Specialization
Designed for current and aspiring school and district leaders, as well as administrators in faith based and other educational settings, this specialization supports advanced leadership preparation in education. Through a partnership with the Orange County Department of Education, candidates who hold a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential may complete the requirements to clear the credential while enrolled in the EdD program, including completion of required administrative fieldwork coordinated through OCDE
The specialization also provides coursework options for candidates seeking preparation for the California Preliminary Administrative Credential Examination (CPACE) to obtain the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential through examination. Featured coursework includes Strategic Human Resource Management and Development and Sustained Fiscal Leadership for Organizational Effectiveness, with candidates selecting either Special Topics in Educational Administration or CPACE Preparation based on their professional goals.
While this specialization does not directly confer the California Preliminary Administrative Services Credential, it provides a strong leadership foundation and targeted preparation for California educators pursuing the credential independently through the CPACE pathway. It is also well suited for candidates who already hold a Preliminary or Clear Administrative Services Credential obtained through examination, as well as out of state administrators seeking deeper expertise in areas such as human resource management and finance.
Graduates of this specialization include educators preparing to advance into administrative leadership roles and current administrators seeking to strengthen their leadership capacity through advanced doctoral study.
