At a baseball doubleheader in April, a group of Little Leaguers named “Concordia Eagles” lined up with Concordia’s players for the national anthem—their hearts bursting with excitement to stand alongside their namesake team.

The Eagles softball team had an outstanding season in 2022, starting 36-0, tying for the sixth-longest undefeated start to a season in NCAA DII history, and were ranked No. 1 in the nation in DII. Coach Crystal Rosenthal attributes their successes to the team’s consistently high performance in each aspect of the game.

Longtime Christ College dean Steve Mueller ‘86 has been elevated to the position of Vice President and Chief Mission Officer where he will focus on maintaining a strong institutional mission and identity throughout Concordia.
Concordia’s new Servant Leader Institute offered its inaugural Educator Leadership Academy in May 2022 and attracted educators from across California to cultivate their skills as servant-leaders for education.

The Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson Veterans Resource Center has a new director, Richard Lewis ‘18, and a new status as a Silver Tier Military Friendly institution.
Orange County congressional representatives Rep. Katie Porter and Rep. Michelle Steel were invited to two town hall meetings sponsored by Concordia’s Center for Civics Education. The students were actively engaged in the event and were able to learn more about each candidate and their platforms.
Effective July 1, 2022, Rev. Dr. David Loy steps into the role of dean of Christ College. He has served at Concordia since 2011 and looks forward to ensuring that each student encounters the good news of Jesus.
