Trembath Lecture

The Trembath Endowment has been a special blessing to Christ College at Concordia University, enabling senior theology professors to have time for more in-depth research, study, and writing. This new knowledge and perspective is then passed on to our students, society, and the church. The Trembath lecture is one way in which the fruits of faculty research are made available to students, colleagues, and other interested parties.

Don’t Freak Out: Disability and the Resurrection Body in Light of the Fiction of Flannery O’Connor

The works of American author, Flannery O’Connor, reveal a grounded theology of the body through her use of the grotesque. She punctures American religious sentimentalism as inadequate to speak to the disorder of human embodied life and offers a sacramental vision of grace hidden beneath infirmity.
