Academic Coaching Center

UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, Tutoring Services and the Writing Studio have added video-conferencing and e-tutoring to our WCOnline appointment schedules so that students continue to get the academic support they need.

The Academic Coaching Center is committed to empowering Concordia University Irvine students as life-long learners by providing support services that will equip them with tools to achieve their academic goals. Our peer-directed academic coaching is offered free of charge.

Tutoring Services

Tutors (also referred to as Academic Coaches) provide the support needed to understand and explore course concepts and assignments in small group and one-one-one sessions. Schedule a tutoring session.

Click on Tutoring Services in the menu bar to:

  • Learn more about our services
  • See which courses currently offer peer tutoring
  • Apply to become a peer tutor
  • Recommend someone for a tutoring position
  • Read the most frequently asked questions and their answers

The Writing Studio

Writing Consultants support students in their development as writers and critical thinkers. In one-on-one sessions they provide feedback on papers for things like the strength of claims, quality of research and evidence integration, organization and structure, formatting, adherence to assignment and genre conventions. Schedule a Writing Studio session.

In addition, we partner with faculty and staff in offices such as Academic Advising, First-Year Experience, and the Disability and Learning Resource Center to encourage, inspire, motivate, and support the academic success of each student.

If interested in becoming an academic coach or writing consultant, visit the Tutoring Services or Writing Studio application pages.
