A concert of music and silence dedicated to those who served for the sake of freedom.

 

The 45-musician Concordia Wind Orchestra will be joined by organist, Tom Mueller, for a special concert featuring cathedral music that was shaped by World War II. Music by Milhaud, Purcell, Alain, Messiaen, Obrecht, Sparke, Distler, Langlais, Widor, and John Williams. This concert is a part of a tour that will include performances in Orange County, Oceanside, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, including performances at Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery in Normandy during the 75th anniversary of D-Day on June 6.

This special concert will be presented in June 2019 in Belgium and the Netherlands. The CWO will also provide ceremonial music at the Normandy American Cemetery and will participate in the D-Day Memorial Wind Band, performing in Paris and at Omaha Beach on the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
