I first heard of Concordia University Irvine through the Director of Christian Education at my home church in North Carolina. I admired her love for Jesus and her passion for teaching people about Him. Because I really wanted to follow in her footsteps, I decided to check out Concordia, too.

When I first applied, I was really worried about the finances, but it was amazing to see God work all that out. When I was awarded a Presidential Scholarship, I knew it was meant to be.

I am the oldest of five kids in my family, so moving away from home was difficult. But when I arrived on campus, I could immediately sense the power of the Holy Spirit in the community and in the lives of the people I met. I was amazed that even the professors took an active interest in me from the beginning. Not only did they teach me about the Bible, but they also guided me in my relationship with Christ. It’s not all head knowledge at Concordia…they care about your heart, too.

If I could give one piece of advice to prospective students, I would say if you really feel God is leading to you Concordia University Irvine, don’t stress about the money. Instead pray about it A LOT, talk to people you respect, get the opinions of people you love…and then GO FOR IT! God provides! He provided for me, and I’m certain He will for you, too!
