Getting Started
The STEM-designated MBA in Managerial Science focuses the classic business administration lens on data-driven practices, technology integration, contemporary strategies, and the science of management itself. This experience-rich program can be completed in just 24 months, with evening and occasional Saturday face-to-face courses at our Irvine campus, giving you the flexibility to advance your career while balancing work and family life.
In this program, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore your interests and round out your education with electives in analytics, AI, business law, marketing, investing, project management, and more.
Graduates who participate in 12 months of post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) may qualify for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension, allowing them to gain up to three years of professional experience in the United States. This extension provides a valuable opportunity to apply advanced business and technical skills in real-world settings while enhancing career prospects.

The Concordia MBAM program culminates with a 4-unit Capstone business plan project. This final project includes the core documents used to formulate, develop, and communicate new business opportunities. As an MBAM candidate, you will develop a comprehensive proposal of an original idea, a funding proposal for an entrepreneurial venture, or a new product line or business venture within an existing organization.
Illuminating Mentorship Program
The Illuminating Mentorship Program is a unique opportunity offered to Concordia MBA students that allows you to work one-on-one with a mentor for two semesters throughout the course of your time in the program. A sounding board, business coach, advocate, advisor, connector, voice of reason, role model – your mentor sheds light on the path ahead. By being matched to mentors in your field of interest, you gain invaluable guidance that equips you for the pathway ahead.

Students enrolled in the MBA program will work with our coordinator to be paired with a mentor. When a match is made, the mentor and the mentee will be contacted via email. After an application and interview process, the applicant engages in an orientation with the coordinator. MBA students gain immediate access to the Illuminating Mentorship Program, and there is no additional fee to participate.

What is a STEM-designated degree?
As defined by the U.S. Homeland Security, a STEM-designated degree is an academic degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics that makes international students eligible to apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT).2 This extension is crucial for gaining immediate hands-on experience post graduation, such as fellowships and career opportunities within a graduate’s U.S. network.

Is an MBA in Managerial Science worth it?
