January 17: How to Begin Research
Sometimes the hardest part of research is simply getting started! This session will provide strategies for choosing a research topic along with tips for selecting and evaluating sources for your topic.
February 7: Finding Books and eBooks
Yes, the library has books and yes, you can find them! This session will demonstrate how to successfully navigate through the Library’s catalog and eBook databases in order to find books on a research topic.
February 21: Finding Relevant Articles
Articles published in journals, magazines, and newspapers are important resources for a research paper. This session will focus on finding various types of articles for a research topic.
March 21: Basic & Advanced Search Techniques
Learn tips and tricks for using various tools and resources to research more efficiently and effectively including Boolean logic, phrase searching, database limiters, controlled vocabulary and more!
April 4: Smart Google
What makes a website credible? How can you evaluate content found through Google to decide whether it is appropriate for college level research? Take this workshop and find out!
