ATTENTION STUDENTS:
Many of our ensembles accept new members throughout the year. If you are interested in joining any of them, please contact the faculty member in charge. Concordia has music groups for many levels of student expertise. Please join - you'll be glad that you did!
CHOIRS
THE CONCORDIA CHOIR
Dr. Michael Busch, director
The Concordia Choir maintains a distinctive tradition of excellence with performances throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Their most recent tour through Brazil included a performance before an audience of 10,000. The critically acclaimed 60-voice ensemble performs a diverse selection of the finest sacred choral literature from a variety of cultures and historical eras, including the Concordia Christmas Concerts and an annual MasterWorks Concert series with orchestra. Acceptance by audition.
WOMEN'S ENSEMBLE
Marin Jacobson, Conductor
This dynamic ensemble specializes in the performance of distinctive music for women's voices. Through the rehearsal of sacred and secular music representing a broad range of styles, singers strive for a high standard of vocal excellence. Performances include fall and spring concerts, the Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols, the popular Concert for Valentines, and a spring tour. Find a place to belong, make new friends, and have fun singing in the Concordia Women's Ensemble. Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00 PM.
CHAPEL CHOIR

Concordia's Chapel Choir is a mixed ensemble that welcomes any Concordia student. This enthusiastic ensemble enriches the community's worship life by offering a variety of music from many times and places. Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30-10:20 AM.

Specializing in the latest contemporary Christian / gospel arrangements, these select vocal quartets sing for church services and special events throughout the western United States and abroad. Admission by invitation.
CONCORDIA MASTER CHORALE

A community ensemble comprised of talented singers from throughout Orange County, as well as Concordia alumni, faculty, staff, and students. The Concordia Master Chorale presents significant choral works at three major concerts each year. Acceptance by audition.

Having performed in Europe, Asia, through 21 states nationwide, as well as for large audiences in southern California, Concert Handbells performs a wide variety of the most challenging handbell literature. Admission by invitation.
SPIRIT BELLS

This auditioned group performs in chapel, in concerts and on a spring performance tour. Good note-reading ability is essential and previous handbell experience is expected.
CHAPEL BELLS

This auditioned group performs in chapel and in limited off-campus appearances for churches and schools. Some note-reading skill and previous musical experience is expected.
PACIFIC RINGERS

Pacific Ringers is open to any beginning or intermediate ringer. Note-reading ability is helpful but will be taught.

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES

The CWO is the premier ensemble for woodwinds, brass, and percussion. In addition to performances of some of the finest repertoire for winds, the ensemble is a leader in the performance of instrumental music for worship. Membership is by audition.
CONCORDIA BRASS / WIND QUINTET / PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE

The Concordia Brass, Woodwind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble are groups which perform for concerts, recitals, and worship services on campus and in the Orange County community. Members are selected from the finest brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians in the Concordia Wind Orchestra.

The Concordia String Ensemble performs for concerts, recitals and worship services on campus and in the Orange County community. Membership is by audition.
CONCORDIA JAZZ COMBO

This is a small jazz ensemble focusing on improvisation. Membership is by audition.
PEP BAND

The student-led Concordia Pep Band provides musical support to the Concordia Basketball team. The Pep Band is open to any student.

WORSHIP TEAMS

Worship teams fulfill an important leadership responsibility within the worship framework of our campus. Auditions are held each year for gifted guitarists (acoustic & electric), drummers, percussionists, keyboardists, and vocalists to fill positions for service in our contemporary "Common Ground" chapels, "Lifepoint" chapels, "Ten28" chapels, "Sunday Source" worship service, and Thursday night SHOUT services.
