Critically Acclaimed Jazz Quintet Performs at Concordia University

 

peggy Irvine, CA—The Peggy Duquesnel Quintet will take the stage at
Concordia University’s Faculty Artist Spotlight Concert on Sunday,
October 21, at 2:00 p.m.
at the CU Center for Worship and Performing
Arts. The Quintet includes lead artist Peggy Duquesnel (piano/vocals),
Jay Mason (saxophone/flute), Ernie Nunez (bass), Kendall Key (drums),
and Grant Geissman (guitar).

Pianist, composer and vocalist Peggy Duquesnel, instructor of Jazz and
Contemporary Music at Concordia, has recorded with jazz notables
such as Alan Broadbent, Henry Mancini and Dionne Warwick. The
former organist for the Anaheim Angels and the Mighty Ducks has
released several jazz and inspirational CDs which have received
critical acclaim.

The concert will include Duquesnel’s original compositions, along with
her upbeat arrangements of jazz standards and traditional gospel songs,
featuring a stellar group of professional musicians and faculty.
