I rarely get butterflies before singing in front of people, but standing below the platform at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a team of singers and musicians from Concordia Irvine and elsewhere, my stomach buzzed with nerves. Then, a voice came through our in-ear monitors. “Go! You guys are up.”

Debate Team Does it Again!

Concordia University Irvine's debate team has done it again, placing second nationwide at the 2019 National Parliamentary Debate Association (NPDA) Championship Tournament. It is the seventh time in eight years they have finished in the top five among all universities, and their run includes two first-place finishes and four second-place finishes. The Eagles are the only squad in the country to place a team in the quarterfinals or higher at nationals for the last five years in a row.

We also engage in outreach, specifically to those who do not know how incredibly loved they are by Jesus. Our outreach efforts have placed us in some very unlikely places and situations, which make for interesting ministry stories
