Launching Through Luke - Lent 2026

Just As He Told Them

Lent 2026

Read Luke 19:28-48

As we enter Holy Week—the week that culminates in the death of Jesus Christ for our sins—we do well to notice these simple words from Luke: “They found it just as he had told them.”

These words remind us that none of the events of this week are random. Every moment unfolds exactly according to God’s plan. From the colt prepared for Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to the praise of the crowds and even the opposition that follows, each detail moves the story forward toward the purpose for which Jesus came.

God’s plan of salvation is moving swiftly toward the conclusion Jesus had been proclaiming all along. It is leading to the very reason for His incarnation.

For the disciples, this week must have felt like a whirlwind. One moment there were palm branches, shouts of “Hosanna,” and celebration. Soon there would be confusion, fear, betrayal, and the cross. What seemed chaotic and heartbreaking to them was, in truth, the unfolding of God’s perfect redemption.

Even in the tension of these moments, God’s hand was guiding every event. Every detail reveals the depth of His mercy and grace. And because of that, this week is truly worthy of our reflection, gratitude, and praise.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your steadfast love that endured the events of Holy Week. May this week be a reminder not only of Your great grace but also of your daily care for my life. Amen.
