  • Wear closed-toed shoes. We will be working in off-trail conditions, often in or among dense vegetation. Closed-toed shoes will protect your feet from potential injury. We will not be working on the beach or on the sand, so open toed shoes, sandals, or flip-flops should not be worn.
  • Wear layered clothing. Weather conditions can change here at the wetlands, from cold and breezy to warm and sunny in as little as an hour. Being able to shed or put on layers of clothing will help keep you comfortable while you work.
  • Bring water. Hydration is key whenever you exert yourself physically, and this will be no different. Bringing water will keep you hydrated and stave off heat exhaustion. Bonus points if you bring a reusable water bottle!
  • Bring sun protection. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are all excellent ways to protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays. There are few shade sources here at the wetlands, so bringing sun protection is strongly recommended.
