Study Theology Alongside Your Major
Many students with majors outside of theology want to learn more about God’s love in Christ, the Bible, and the history of the church. At Concordia, you can do that. Our theology minor can be paired with nearly any major, and it lets you dig more deeply into the Scriptures, study what different Christian denominations have taught, and learn church history.
Our theology faculty includes accomplished scholars with years of ministry experience. They are eager to help students from any major grow in faith in Christ and in understanding of what God teaches in the Bible.

What is a minor in theology?
A theology minor is a focused set of classes in theology that you can take alongside your major as part of your bachelor’s degree. The courses focus on the study of Scripture and how Scripture has been applied to important questions through the ages. The minor at Concordia consists of 24 units, and you get some flexibility to choose the courses you’re most interested in. It is a great way to learn more about your faith with Christian scholars.
Is a theology minor useful?
A theology degree is absolutely useful. Not only do you get to learn more about the Christian faith, but you will also learn to think critically about difficult issues and communicate effectively. These skills are important in every occupation and all of life. Study what you love, learn about God’s love in Christ, and gain skills for an occupation with a theology minor.
