The next dean is expected to provide effective leadership in advancing the School of Business by:

Resident Designer/Technical Director, Theatre

The Theatre Resident Designer and Technical Director organizes and supervises all set construction and lighting preparation for each Theatre Department production and any special events produced by the Theatre Department. This includes coordinating the work of all professional guest designers and student designers for the Theatre Department productions and any special events produced by the Theatre Department; planning of work schedules, ordering of materials and equipment, direct supervision of student workers, and delegation of authority to assistants and student supervisors when appropriate. He/she performs 6 design assignments (set or lighting) for the Theatre Department mainstage productions annually, developing working drawings and daily plans to be executed by student workers. The Technical Director also teaches 6-12 semester hours of theatre courses each year and assists the Director of Theatre Activities with recruiting and mentoring of students in the Theatre major and Theatre minor, particularly those students whose primary interest is design and technical theatre. The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree in theatre with relevant experience in technical theatre and an MFA in design or technical theatre plus three years’ experience in professional or educational theatre preferred.

Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach

The Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting in the development of the women’s volleyball program while providing Christian leadership principles to a successful volleyball program within the framework of the mission of the university and the intercollegiate athletic department. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach with additional direction from the Athletic Director. In addition, the assistant coach is to establish an environment in which student-athletes develop as well as mature spiritually, academically, socially and athletically with the purpose of each performer and team reaching their fullest potential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned depending on prior experience and background.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university. Candidate must be highly motivated and have successful coaching experience in a competitive athletic program at the collegiate or high school level and/or two to three years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. The ability to recruit and motivate student-athletes, a strong commitment to academic success as well as a clear understanding and commitment to the NAIA philosophy, rules and regulations, and the role of intercollegiate athletics within the university mission. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. This is a full-time; twelve month position including full benefits and requires evening/weekend work/travel. Staff Accompanist

The Music Department seeks a full-time gifted pianist to serve as staff accompanist to choral ensembles and as coach to vocalists and instrumentalists. The staff accompanist will primarily accompany the choral ensembles in rehearsals and performances. The pianist will also assist studio instructors by serving as a coach-accompanist for vocal and instrumental students. Other duties include accompaniment of Concordia’s Noon Recital series, opera workshop, studio classes, music juries, and prospective music student auditions. Teaching responsibilities may also include some applied instruction of pianists. Students performing junior and senior recitals may contract with the accompanist for an additional fee. Other specialized duties in support of music department activities may be assigned.

Qualifications: The individual must be a gifted artist and capable teacher because the appointment will include both teaching and performing. A master’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience, with at least five years of collaborative piano experience at a high level. Knowledge of major recital repertoire, as well as art song and aria literature, is desired. Strong sight-reading abilities are essential. Administrative Assistant – Nursing Programs

The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting the overall operation and functions of the Nursing program office. The Assistant will perform a variety of administrative duties and record-keeping responsibilities. This role is responsible for collaborating with Deans, Faculty, Supervisors, and fellow administrative staff. Essential functions include:

  • Coordinating the workflow of the program to keep projects on schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and manage program calendar, meetings and conference calls.
  • Complete data entry, filing, and faxing as required.
  • Be a source of information and assistance, as well as greet and screen visitors for the Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Assist in preparing materials for presentations and meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and udpate student files and student information spreadsheets. Maintain detailed knowledge of spreadsheet content and conduct periodic review to ensure content is pertinent and current.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Nursing Program database, and prepare specialized statistical reports for all programs for the Director, college executives, and the University.
  • Coordinate and distribute announcements to faculty and students.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 – 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Campus Safety Officer (2 Positions)

Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Safety, the Campus Safety Officer is responsible for making routine patrols of the campus facility, completing daily logs, and preparing incident reports for incidents and/or observations from daily rounds. Campus Safety Officers conduct the initial response and investigation of all campus incidents and coordinate with emergency and public safety responders as well as appropriate university departments when necessary. Officers also report all safety hazards that they may encounter during their patrols. On occasion, the Campus Safety Officer may need to fill in at a gatehouse. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of one year of experience as a security officer or related experience, a current holder of First Aid, CPR, AED certification and a current holder of a valid guard card issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Student Accounts Counselor (Potential Candidate Identified)

Under general direction of the Bursar, the Student Accounts Counselor will keep records of student financial accounts, providing information to and interacting daily with students, parents, faculty, staff and administrators along with outside agencies either in person, by phone, or by email. This person will also need to know, understand, and be able to explain payment options. The goal is to provide outstanding service while maintaining a high level of integrity, honesty, and professional ethics. Some of the additional responsibilities include:

  • Student paycheck distribution and student and staff flex dollar payments.
  • Assess and review student charges (i.e., course charges, fines, etc.) and credits (i.e., financial aid, grants, outside aid, etc.).
  • Review monthly payment plan distribution reports, verify correct student ID numbers.
  • Run a semi-monthly report of delinquent payment plans and contact students and parents via e-mail and telephone to reconcile overdue payments. Run daily student hold reports and remove any unnecessary holds.
  • Work with other offices to maintain accurate records of students’ accounts (financial aid, Registrar, Education).
  • Process and correctly identify student payments and deliver payments to the Accounting office on a daily basis. Check for accuracy of charges and credits for monthly/semester billing.
  • Handout bookstore vouchers to students.
  • Responsible for invoicing outside agencies; per semester, per student to receive funds, and keeping accurate handbooks and records regarding billing outside agencies.
  • Maintain clear communication with students receiving GI bill funds and the Registrar regarding funding.
  • Update student accounts handbook with all changes that affect the Bursar’s office.

The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting the overall operation and functions of the Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration (MCAA) program office. This role is responsible for collaborating with Deans, Directors, Faculty and fellow administrative staff. Essential functions include:

  • Managing office activities, scheduling meetings, and maintaining the MCAA calendar of appointments and events.
  • Distributing, processing, and maintaining all MCAA teaching and employment contracts, as well as processing applications and preparing contracts for summer school.
  • Collecting and filing syllabi for all MCAA classes.
  • Distributing course evaluations to MCAA faculty members and reporting responses.
  • Composing letters, memos, emails, and other communications.
  • Entering and extracting student information using the university’s enterprise systems.
  • Providing special orientation assistance to part-time faculty which includes orientation meetings/dinners.
  • Assisting with graduation, opening service, and other academic functions.

Annual Giving Coordinator

The Annual Giving Coordinator is primarily responsible for the planning, operation and development of the University’s annual giving programs and donor stewardship programs, as well as the development of methods that provide for meaningful donor-to-student recipient interactions. The Coordinator will work to expand the existing donor base and to insure the coordination of the annual giving programs. This role is responsible for collaborating with the University Advancement Department Directors and fellow staff. Essential functions include:

  • Staffing and managing all responsibilities of various scholarship, endowment, and annual giving programs.
  • Coordinating endowment reporting and matching efforts on behalf of University Advancement, serving as liaison to the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Maintaining, managing, and growing the gift clubs and societies.
  • Team working to develop systems to reduce donor attrition and early donor identification for potential upgrades.
  • Managing branding efforts for giving clubs and societies.

The preferred candidate will hold at a Bachelor’s degree and 2 – 4 years of appropriate experience, as well as skills Windows and Adobe products and database systems. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with a positive, interpersonal attitude.

Payroll Manager

Under the supervision of the Executive Vice President/CFO and Controller, the Payroll Manager is primarily responsible for processing payrolls and maintaining all related payroll records. The Manager will also assist the Accounting Manager, Controller, and EVP of Finances in the daily processing of transactions and production of reports to ensure accurate payroll records. Also, the Manager, in conjunction with the Human Resources department, will oversee the supervisor’s payroll time sheet approval process and coordinate system information to ensure accurate records. Other essential functions include:

  • Advising the Controller of cash funding needs for payroll with sufficient lead time.
  • Assisting in the development and monitoring of the payroll budgets.
  • Providing timely monthly salary reports.
  • Processing year-end W2.
  • Assisting students, faculty, and staff as needed.

  • Distributing and filing a variety of documents, including course evaluations, academic warnings, and syllabi.
  • Providing assistance for the Honors Program, including monitoring enrollment and scholarships, arranging field tips and receptions, and assisting the Dean in selection of students for the program.
