Welcome from the Department of Campus Safety

 

Whether you are a student, employee, or guest, theDepartment of Campus Safety would like to welcome you to the Concordia Universitycampus community.  Our gated campus isnestled on a sunny hill in the Turtle Rock community of Irvine and surrounded by a scenic wildlifeoasis.  Irvine remains one of the safest cities inthe nation for the fifth consecutive year according to data released by the FBIin 2009.    

Itis the mission of Concordia University’s Departmentof Campus Safety to provide a safe environment for members of the campuscommunity 24/7, 365 days a year.  Ourdepartment is staffed by professional, certified Campus Safety Officers andCommunity Service Officers who seek to provide excellent customer-basedservices to the community in accordance to the Christian mission and goals ofthe University.  Our Student SafetyAssistant position not only gives students an opportunity for employment butalso an avenue for them to become invested in the wellbeing of theircommunity.     

TheDepartment of Campus Safety offers a variety of services to community membersand guests.  Our Campus Safety dispatchis available 24/7 to receive reports of suspicious activities and to takerequests for services such as safety escorts and room lock-out assistance.  Campus Safety is also responsible for theparking and traffic enforcement on campus in addition to the initial investigationand documentation of campus incidents.    

CampusSafety and Community Service Officers receive state certification, first-aid,CPR, and AED training and work closely with our partners at the Irvine PoliceDepartment and the Orange County Fire Authority to maintain a safe andenjoyable campus environment.
