Concordia Wind Orchestra

The Concordia Wind Orchestra is a premier instrumental ensemble open to students from all majors. Members perform throughout the academic year in concerts, worship services, special events, commencement, and touring performances.
At a Glance
- Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30–5:15 p.m.
- Performances: Approximately 15 per year
- Auditions: New members are accepted at the beginning of each semester
- Who can join: Students from all majors are welcome
- Private lessons: Required for CWO members for at least part of their time at Concordia; lesson tuition is steeply discounted
Perform & Travel
CWO performances include fall and spring concerts, Concordia Christmas concerts, worship services, commencement, the Family Pops Concert, and other special events.
Tours occur regularly, with recent destinations including San Diego, Las Vegas, Northern California, Phoenix, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Michigan, and Texas.
A Versatile Orchestral Experience
Many Wind Orchestra members also perform with other Concordia ensembles, including the Concordia Symphony Orchestra, Concordia Brass, and Concordia Jazz Orchestra.
Music majors and non-majors also have opportunities to perform solo recitals, accompany choirs, participate in chapel, and perform with local congregations and musical organizations.

Prospective students are invited to apply for music scholarships. All Concordia orchestras accept new members at the beginning of each semester.
