We look forward to welcoming you to our campus. Here are the next steps that will assist you with a smooth transition to be enrolled at Concordia.

Undergraduate
1. Activate your student login credentials
When? Immediately following acceptance.
Go to our Knowledge Base Article to activate all of the credentials you will need for online resources. These include your Eagles email address and your MyRecords account to view documents requested by the Financial Aid department, along with your financial aid award.
Be sure to check your Eagles email account regularly. You will receive important information for completing your enrollment, on-campus housing, setting up your course schedule, and all official communication from the university.
2. Access your financial aid offer
When? Beginning in December.
Deadlines: March 3 for FAFSA* and Cal Grant.
Financial aid offers typically begin sending in December to students with a completed FAFSA. You will receive your offer letter via your Eagles email and a hard copy will be sent to your mailing address. If you do not plan to file a FAFSA, you must notify the Financial Aid Office via your Eagles email.
To maximize your financial aid, please make note of the following important deadlines:

- Cal Grant GPA Verification: March 3
- California residents only
- Before completing the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form, check with your High School to see if it was already electronically submitted.
After you receive your financial aid offer, we encourage you to schedule a financial aid appointment to discuss your anticipated charges, financial aid package and payment options. The appointment will last approximately 30 minutes, and family members are strongly encouraged to participate.
* Note you are still able to file a FAFSA after this date.
3. Make it official by submitting your deposit
Deadlines: May 1 for Fall start.*
To confirm your place in the incoming class, you will need to submit a non-refundable $300 enrollment deposit.
Deposits can be made securely online via credit card or electronic check. If you prefer to pay by mail, checks can be sent to:

4. Verify your housing and meal plans
When? Applications open March 15 for Fall start; November 1 for Spring start.
Deadlines: June 1 for priority Housing Application; August 1 for Off-Campus Housing Appeal
Concordia University Irvine requires all full-time undergraduate students who are 21 years of age or younger to live on-campus unless living with a parent, guardian, or family member. The Housing Application and Meal Plan Contract can be completed online when you activate your StarRez account.
If you are planning to be a commuter student, you must submit the Off-Campus Housing Appeal Form by August 1. This form can be found after activating your StarRez account.
Housing Information for Incoming Students
Steps to Complete Your Housing Application
Applications are made available on November 1 for the following academic year. Wait at least 48 hours after you receive your CUI Admissions acceptance packet before signing up for housing.
- In order to submit a housing application, you must be admitted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and have submitted your $300 enrollment deposit.
- Begin at StarRez
- Select Activate Account
- Enter your Eagles Email address* and Student ID to Activate your Account (found in your admissions acceptance packet)
- Select “Apply for Housing” to begin your application
- Once you have submitted your application, select “My Roommate Profile” in the left menu and select “Turn on my profile” so other applicants can select you as their roommate. *this is optional but necessary if you wish to request roommates.
- Once all parties have submitted their application and activated their Roommate profile, you can select “Roommate Groups” and create a preferred group to room with.
Consider applying for one of our Living Learning Communities (LLC) which are distinctive, theme-based residential learning environments. Each Living Learning Community has limited participation so it’s important to apply as early as possible.

Off-Campus Housing
If you are planning to be a commuter student, you must submit the Off-Campus Housing Appeal Form by August 1. This form can be found after activating your StarRez account.
5. Register for classes
When? Complete the Class Registration Survey using the link below.
The Class Registration Survey is available to complete via the link below. Please note that your academic advisor will enroll you in classes and direct you to MyRecords to view your class schedule. After classes begin, you are welcome to schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor. This survey confirms your choice of major and collects other necessary information to build your first semester class schedule.
Transfer students will not be enrolled until all official college and final high school transcripts are received by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
6. Review your student billing statement
When? Following your registration for classes.
Your student account contains a listing of all charges associated with your registered classes for the semester. Any/all financial aid, personal payments, and other credits are reflected within the student account for each semester, and can be settled with the Office of the Bursar. Review deadlines, billing and payment instructions on the Office of the Bursar website.
Once you have been registered for classes, a billing statement will be emailed to your Eagles email address and your personal address listed in our records.
You may view and pay your student bill online through MyRecords (select “My Student Bill”).
7. Complete health clearance requirements
Deadlines: August 1 for Fall start; December 1 for Spring start
All incoming students – regardless of living on- or off-campus – need to follow the health clearance requirements issued by the Wellness Center. You will have access to a patient portal at https://cui.medicatconnect.com to complete forms and upload files.

New Undergraduate Students
Log in at https://cui.medicatconnect.com and complete the following requirements. Failure to comply by the deadline will result in a Health Hold that may prevent you from enrollment and moving to housing.
- Complete Health History Form
- Enter dates for the following requirements:
- MMR #1 (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccine or positive titers
- received after 1 year of age
- MMR #2 (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccine or positive titers
- at least 4 weeks after the first dose
- MMR #1 (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccine or positive titers
- Submit proof by uploading a picture of immunization record that contains the dates entered above
All of these are done online at https://cui.medicatconnect.com. We do not accept fax or e-mail copies.

8. Submit official transcripts
Deadlines: July 1 for Fall Start; December 1 for Spring start
First-year students must submit their official high school transcript (with date of graduation) directly from their high school.
Transfer students must submit their official transcript(s) from each institution attended directly from the college(s) and their official high school transcript (with date of graduation) directly from their high school.
Transcripts can be sent electronically (via Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or mailed to:

Events
International Students
To study at Concordia as an international student, you will need an F-1 student visa. After you are admitted, you must receive a Form I-20 from Concordia in order to apply for your visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
Here are the steps to receive your I-20 from Concordia:
Step 1: Submit Your Deposit
To secure your spot in the incoming class you will need to submit a non-refundable $300 enrollment deposit. Deposits can be made securely online via credit card or electronic check.
Deadline: May 1 for Fall start
If you prefer to pay by mail, checks can be sent to:

To make a tuition payment instead of a deposit, visit the Bursar’s Office.
Submit I-20 Request and Financial Proof
If you intend to apply for an F-1 (student) visa, a U.S. consular officer will require a Form I-20 and financial documents showing you can meet your tuition and living expenses for at least the first year of your program.
All students must demonstrate financial ability to pay for at least one year of tuition, fees, and living expenses before Concordia can issue an I-20.
Please submit the following documents to [email protected]:
- Affidavit of Financial Document Form
- Current official bank statement (issued within the last 6 months)
- Check the Affidavit of Financial Document form for the estimated costs per program of study
Note: Financial documents must be less than six months old at the time of submission. Financial support may come from your own resources or from a sponsor. If your sponsor is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, an affidavit of support (PDF) must be completed and submitted with your application. These same financial documents will also be required at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate when you apply for your visa.
Acceptable evidence of financial support:
- Official bank statements
- Letter on bank letterhead with required signature/stamp
- Scholarship letters
- Lines of credit
- Governmental funding
Unacceptable financial documents:
- Chartered accountant statements
- Payroll reports/expected income
- Tax statements and W-2s
- Property assessments
- Credit cards
- Bank statements without currency amounts
- Other statements of non-liquid assets
If you are transferring to Concordia from another U.S. institution, please also provide the following additional items:
- Completed I-20 Transfer-In Form (F-1)
- Copy of F-1 visa
- Copy of passport
- Copy of I-94
- Copy of I-20 (All 3 pages)
- Submitted I-20 Request Form

Step 3: Receive Your Form I-20
Once Step 1 and Step 2 are complete, an electronic I-20 will be sent to your Eagles email account.
- Check your Concordia Eagles email regularly
- Print a copy of your electronic Form I-20 and keep it with you when:
- Applying for an F-1 visa
- Traveling to the United States
If you have trouble logging in to your Eagles email, please contact IT at [email protected].
Any issues that arise during the review process may delay the issuance of your immigration documents. If anything needs clarification, the Moon International Center will contact you using the email you provided in your Concordia application.
Step 4: Pay the SEVIS Fee
Before applying for an F-1 visa, all first-time F-1 applicants (and some others) must pay the SEVIS fee in addition to the visa application fee.

Step 5: Apply for a Visa
After you receive your immigration documents, you will apply for your F-1 visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
Special note for transfer students:
F-1 students who attended another U.S. school before coming to Concordia must request that their previous school transfer their SEVIS record to Concordia. You do not need a new visa if:
- You are not traveling abroad during the transition, or
- Your current F-1 visa in your passport is still valid when you return from travel
Canadian citizens:
Canadian citizens do not need a U.S. visa to enter the United States. However, when you come to attend school, you must present the following documents for inspection either at a pre-inspection site in Canada or upon entry to the United States:
- Canadian passport
- Admission letter to Concordia
- Original I-20
- SEVIS fee payment receipt
- Financial documentation
Step 6: Enter the U.S.
1. Enter the U.S. within 30 days of your program start date
You may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the program start date on your I-20. You may not enter more than 30 days early. Entry after the first day of classes requires permission from University officials and may require a new I-20.
2. Enter on an F-1 visa only
Do not enter the U.S. on a B-1/B-2 visitor visa or F-2 dependent visa if you intend to study. You are not permitted to attend school on a B-1/B-2 or F-2 visa, and U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) may deny a change-of-status request if you had prior intent to study.
3. Use your Concordia University Irvine I-20
Do not enter the U.S. using an I-20 from another school. If it is your first time studying in the U.S., your F-1 visa should list Concordia University Irvine. If your visa lists another school, contact [email protected] or call (949) 214-3471.
Procedures at the Port of Entry
Upon arrival, a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officer will review your:
- Form I-20
- Passport
- F-1 or J-1 visa
We recommend you also hand-carry:
- Financial documents (proof of sufficient funds)
- Your Concordia admission letter
- I-901 SEVIS fee receipt
Documents needed at the Port of Entry:
- I-20
- Valid passport
- Financial documents
- Admission letter from Concordia University Irvine
- I-901 SEVIS fee receipt
- Proof of ties to Canada (Canadian citizens only)
Traveling without the required documents may result in being denied entry. Final decisions are at the discretion of the CBP officer at the port of entry.
