AWHONN’s Perinatal Orientation and Education Program

Concordia University Irvine’s Nursing Program is offering a two-week (2x per week) orientation course developed by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to prepare nurses to work in postpartum and newborn units. At the end of this course you will be ready to jump in and complete clinical time with a preceptor! CNE contact hours for experienced Perinatal Nurses are available!

Contact Hours With AWHONN

Contact hours are awarded for the two-week course through the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). This nationally recognized program skillfully provides all of the knowledge necessary to become prepared for cross-training or new entry to any perinatal unit.

An in-depth curriculum with case studies, references and reading lists, pre- and post-tests, participant handouts and guides (all included in the program) give the learner opportunities to test their grasp of the content in real-life scenarios.
