Katharine Zaun holds a MSc in Comparative Literature from the University of Edinburgh and a CELTA from Cambridge with above standard marks. Before moving to the field of ESL, she was a literary scout and a rights manager for major foreign publishers. Her research interests lie in language acquisition and auto/biographical narratives across cultures.
Gina Chun received her M.S. in TESOL from California State University, Fullerton. She also holds a B.A. in International Studies and a B.A. in Film and Media Studies from the University of California, Irvine. She has developed TOEFL preparation curriculum and has taught in Korea, China, and the United States. Her other languages include Korean and Mandarin Chinese.
Julie Stiegemeyer’s experience spans more than twenty years of ESL teaching, tutoring, and writing. She has worked with new English learners, from age three to adult in writing, reading, study skills, grammar, and vocabulary. Her education includes a master’s degree in English education from Indiana University, and certification in teaching English language to adults (CELTA) from Cambridge University. She has taught in California, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. Julie also enjoys writing for children. More than twenty of her books have been published, including picture books and board books.
Mary Hitt has more than nine years of formal teaching experience in California and Mexico. She has taught English learners in a variety of subject areas from kindergarten to adult, including writing curriculum and developed learning aids for mentoring high-school and college students. Her education includes a master’s degree in teaching from Biola University, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and certification in teaching English language to adults (CELTA) from Cambridge University.
Ona La Motte
Ona La Motte graduated with a M.A. in English, with a specialization in TESL, from Oklahoma State University. Over the past 20 years, she has worked extensively with international students both in domestic settings and abroad. She has experience teaching at the high school, collegiate and post-collegiate level. She also has a background in curriculum development, teacher training, and has written parent seminars. She has worked with principals and government officials implementing teacher training and assessment models in school districts across Nepal. She has a working knowledge of international curriculums, and believes that students learn best in a supportive and nurturing classroom.
Ona has lived overseas and has a passion for traveling and learning new languages and cultures. She enjoys all kinds of outdoor sports, spending time at the beach, reading, and traveling the world with her husband and three children.
