Irvine, CA - The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) has welcomed Concordia University Irvine (CUI) as the newest Christian university in its membership. CUI is also the first Lutheran institution to join the CCCU.
The mission of the CCCU is "to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth." As a Christ-centered university, CUI will benefit from association with other Christian institutions that are dedicated to their Christian mission, as well as contribute a Lutheran perspective to the dialogue about Christian higher education.
"We are honored to be the first Lutheran university to join the CCCU and we stand firm in our distinctive heritage," said CUI's President Kurt Krueger. "In fact, we will be able to further expand our legacy through our new partnership."
CCCU membership will also benefit Concordia University Irvine in that it will signal to prospective students and families that CUI is deeply committed to maintaining its Christian mission, evidenced by the fact that all faculty members are Christians.
Membership in the CCCU will provide tremendous value to CUI students and faculty including the ability to participate in a variety of study abroad programs, as well as the many professional development and networking opportunities for faculty, staff and administrators.
