"I am inspired by how Mendelssohn worked to create the role of Elijah in his music," said Michael Busch, conductor. "Mendelssohn himself wrote that he pictured Elijah as a grand and mighty prophet that we might again require in our own day - powerful and zealous, but also stern, wrathful and gloomy; a striking contrast to the popular rabble that surround us. The bass soloist for our performances at Concordia, Jinyoung Jang, does a marvelous job of assuming Elijah's dramatic personality and delivers a convincing performance."
