Irvine, CA., August 14, 2024 – Concordia University Irvine’s accreditation has been reaffirmed by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) for a period of eight years. In their July 18, 2024 letter, the WSCUC Commission commended Concordia for our deep commitment throughout the whole of the university, including students, to our mission and core convictions. The letter also commended Concordia for creating a general education program that intentionally aligns with our identity, and provides disciplinary and interdisciplinary means of education, centered on helping students address enduring and relevant questions. The university’s mentoring model was also noted for its intentional support of faculty, and the inclusion of adjunct instructors. Finally, the visiting team noted the sense of pride our employees take in our institution.
“This success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, alumni, and external stakeholders,” notes Deborah Lee, Senior Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, who served as the ASCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer for Concordia.
Concordia’s accreditation is reaffirmed through June 2032, with a required interim report in 2027. To read the visiting team's full report or the Commission's Action Letter visit Concordia's Accreditation website.
