Christian Education Professor’s Book Gains Top Title:
Intergenerational Christian Formation Is named A Best Book Of 2012
Irvine, Calif. (February 2013) – Hearts and Minds books has named Dr. Christine Lawton Ross’s book, Intergenerational Christian Formation, the best serious book about congregational life and nurture for 2012. Hearts and Minds books article author, Byron Borger states, “I believe this is the most thorough and best book for inter-generational views of ministry yet done, and it is certainly strong within an evangelical context.”
Dr. Ross is a professor and director of Christian education at Concordia University Irvine. She and co-author Holly Catterton Allen released their book Intergenerational Christian Formation: Bringing the Whole Church Together in Ministry, Community and Worship, in October 2012. The book explains how the relationship of the intergenerational church community came to be, and how to create this environment in church communities today. Ross says, “My experiences in those intergenerational groups changed my understanding of children and my understanding of Christian spiritual formation for children and adults.”
