Concordia offers seven MAEd degrees, offered both in person and online. These graduate programs are designed for credentialed teachers to further their education. There’s also a doctorate program in leadership that allows you to pick one of three tracks, created to help you reach your career goals.

Legacy of Excellence in Teacher Education
The School of Education has a rich tradition of training teachers. We have graduates teaching around the world as a part of our mission to go into the world and serve. Our graduates are recognized as outstanding in their field. We currently serve over 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students on campus, online, and in our regional cohorts in Temecula, Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire.
Training teachers was an original goal when the school first opened as Christ College, Irvine in 1976. The School of Education received formal recognition as one of only three schools within Concordia University Irvine in 1995. Since our humble beginnings, we have had thousands of teachers in our undergraduate and graduate programs move into careers in education.
Our credential programs meet all requirements put forth by the state of California and are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Additionally, Concordia University Irvine is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
PPHOA Grant
The U.S. Department of Education’s Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans Program (PPOHA) awarded Concordia University Irvine a $3 million grant that will positively impact Hispanic graduate students in the School of Education.
Servant Leadership Institute
The Servant Leadership Institute at Concordia University Irvine is committed to equipping individuals with effective servant leadership characteristics and skills and lending support as they strive to maximize their positive impact on others.
