Dig Deeper into God’s Word
Want to dig deeper into God’s Word, but don’t have room for a theology major? At Concordia, you can do both. Our Biblical studies minor can be paired with nearly any major, and it lets you study the whole Bible and then dig deeper into particular books in the Old and New Testaments.You will learn the theological, linguistic, and literary qualities of the New and Old Testaments, and you’ll develop the foundation to engage in deeper conversations and richer personal devotions.
Our theology faculty includes accomplished scholars with years of ministry experience. They are eager to help students from any major grow in faith in Christ and in understanding of what God teaches in the Bible.

Why get a Biblical Studies minor?
God speaks to us through his Word. Studying the Bible with experienced scholars will help you get more out of your Bible study in the future, and it will help you grow in your faith in Jesus Christ. You will gain a broad overview of the entire Bible, and you will study several books in depth. You have the option of learning Greek or Hebrew if you wish, although that is not required. Either way, with this minor, you will get to know the Bible better, learn a responsible method for understanding different Bible passages, and develop a deeper faith in Christ.
What’s the difference between theology and Biblical Studies?
All theology is based on the Scriptures. However, a theology minor is more broad-based, with classes in the Bible, church history, and doctrinal theology, while a Biblical Studies minor focuses on studying specific books of the Bible in order to gain a broader and deeper understanding of God’s Word.
