Prepare for Ministry Within the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
The Director of Christian Education (DCE) minor focuses on preparing you as an educational leader for lifespan ministry in a congregational setting within the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Through four years of coursework and one year of internship, you’ll be prepared to serve in a congregational setting in roles like:
- Care minister: Dynamic character, willing to listen to and care for the needs of others
- Christian educator: Strong theological base to teach the Bible
- Lifespan minister: Compassion for people of all ages and backgrounds
- Ministry leader: Heart for full-time service in the church
The DCE minor has additional requirements. It must be paired with the Theological Studies: Christian Education Leadership major. Undergraduates who wish to become DCEs in the LCMS must apply to the Christ College Church Work program before declaring this minor. Choose this minor if you want to be a DCE in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The minor must be paired with the Theological Studies: Christian Education Leadership major.
What if I want to be a church worker, but I’m not sure if I want to be a DCE?
