When your community needs you, will you be ready to serve? Concordia University Irvine’s Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Community Health Education from Concordia University Irvine prepares you to become a changemaker who can educate, advocate, and lead.
You’ll build a strong foundation across core areas of public health, grounded in research, ethics, and a faith-based view of servant leadership. Along the way, you’ll complete a community-based practicum and at least 20 hours of volunteer service with a health organization of your choosing.

Getting Started
Our MPH degree equips you to guide individuals, communities, and populations toward healthier choices, reducing illness, improving outcomes, and stewarding resources wisely. You’ll dive deep into a faith-based education grounded in research and ethical principles, as well as coursework that emphasizes servant leadership and community health promotion.
This program features online courses, with live online sessions every other week. With 7-week classes and integrated service, you can finish your degree in as few as 24 months with hands-on experience and skills you can use right away.
Concordia has applied for accreditation with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The accreditation review will address the Master of Public Health (MPH) program.

Completing your MPH at Concordia prepares you to:
- Analyze services, systems, policies, and challenges that impact the health of communities.
- Understand and interpret research methods and related data to promote evidence-based approaches to public health.
- Evaluate biological, behavioral, social, and environmental factors that affect health.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ways to improve individual and community health.
- Work with culturally diverse individuals, interprofessional teams, and communities in health promotion, education, and behavior.

Residency
Twice a year, MPH students gather on Concordia’s campus for professional development workshops. These sessions give you the chance to connect with peers, alumni, and faculty while building career-ready skills. Workshops include:
- Industry guest speakers and executive coaches
- Resume and job-search workshops
- Interview preparation and professional headshots
MPH students are welcome to attend in person or via livestream.
