The Lifestyle and Parkinson’s Disease Longitudinal Study (LPLS), located at Concordia University Irvine, explores how lifestyle choices, such as diet and exercise, influence Parkinson’s Disease (PD) progression.

Adults with a physician diagnosis of PD.

Participants can expect a guided ~3 hours of completing surveys, interviews, and providing biometric and physical measurements. In addition, all participants receive personalized health reports which can be shared with their physicians.

The health reports are personalized, detailed results from the study, provided each time a participant completes an annual data collection. Our report covers many critical variables often overlooked or not collected in normal doctor’s appointments. Your report will explain and provide context to your data by comparing your data with established research or clinical classifications or other individuals of the same sex and age.

We are currently pursuing grant funding to ensure several more years of data collection can occur. We have partners in other institutions who study Parkinson’s Disease, Biochemistry, and Biostatistics. Also, we are developing ties to the medical device industry and will incorporate some very new technology into our data collection.

The LPLS is approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Concordia University Irvine (#6070).

We will be working with you every step of the way through this study and want you to know a little bit about us. Our team and about twenty student research assistants will also be helping you through your participation.
