Explore Programs That Fit You
Begin by creating your account in the CUI Study Abroad Portal using your Eagles credentials. Once you’re logged in, complete the Program Match Form so the Moon International Center can recommend programs that align with your academic plan, interests, and graduation goals.
How to Study Abroad
Plan ahead to make study abroad part of your degree. Meet with the Moon International Center early to explore programs, build a plan, and stay on track for graduation.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by Concordia University Irvine.
Academics
Research your program options and choose your study abroad program based on your graduation plan, financial aid package, and study abroad goals.
Deadlines
Submit your application in the CUI Study Abroad Portal at least 2-3 weeks before the study abroad deadline to keep you on track for your study abroad goals. Most programs will require a secondary application to the study abroad program provider.

Cambridge, England, UK
Live, study, and worship together for one semester with fellow students at Westfield House in Cambridge, England—one of the world’s oldest and most famous university towns.
Best for students who:
- Want to complete General Education, theology, or liberal arts courses abroad
- Desire a close-knit Lutheran Christian living and learning community
- Value small class sizes with personalized faculty mentorship
ISEP Exchange
ISEP Exchange allows you to study at a partner university around the world while continuing to pay your regular Concordia tuition, housing, and meal plan costs. Federal, state, and institutional financial aid applies, making ISEP Exchange one of the most affordable ways to study abroad. Because placements are based on reciprocal student exchange and available space, admission to your first-choice university is not guaranteed.
Best for students who:
- Want to maximize financial aid
- Are flexible with destination choices
- Are looking to study coursework in their major or minor
ISEP Direct
ISEP Direct offers study abroad at universities that charge a set program fee. Many Direct programs provide greater placement certainty at your preferred university, making them ideal for students with a specific academic or geographic goal. Program fees vary by location and typically include tuition and housing, but costs are paid through the program rather than through Concordia.
Best for students who:
- Have a specific university or destination in mind
- Prefer greater placement certainty
- Have limited course flexibility in their graduation plan
Living & Learning International
Experience immersive, faculty-supported study abroad in a Christ-centered community. Living & Learning International combines academic excellence, cultural immersion, and personalized support to help you grow in knowledge, faith, and global perspective while earning credit toward your Concordia degree. Choose from semester programs in London, England; Sevilla, Spain; Rome, Italy; and Quito, Ecuador.
Best for students who:
- Value a close-knit, Christ-centered learning community
- Want personalized support throughout their study abroad experience
- Prefer programs that combine academics with cultural and experiential learning
Student-Proposed Programs
Students may request approval for another study abroad program, such as AIFS, WorldStrides, Semester at Sea, or other reputable providers.
Before approval, the Moon International Center reviews:
- Academic quality and credit transfer
- Health and safety standards
- International insurance requirements
- Student support services
- Institutional policies
All program applications must be submitted in alignment with Concordia University Irvine study abroad deadlines. Not every program will be approved, so students should meet with the Moon International Center before applying or making financial commitments.

Schedule a study abroad advising appointment to discuss program options, academic planning, eligibility, costs, and next steps. Available to currently enrolled undergraduate students.
