Civic Engagement & Volunteerism
"Be doers of the word and not just hearers" – James 1:22
Civic Engagement & Volunteerism is a vital part of our campus community
by empowering Concordia students to serve on our campus and in the local
community.
Annual activities often include:
- preparing and serving meals at the Ronald McDonald House
- interacting with those in need in nearby Santa Ana
- partnering with the "Kids Against Hunger" organization and
packaging meals for those in need internationally
- supporting a student-led fundraising event called "Night of
Hope".
The LEAD Civic Engagement & Volunteerism coordinators strive to provide
learning opportunities that are engaging and service-oriented, where
students are able to be educated and exposed to the social issues
surrounding our community and beyond and contribute to making a
difference. The opportunities also allow our students to reflect on
their personal perceptions and values and its impact on their own
individual development as a person and citizen.
LEAD Civic Engagement & Volunteerism is excited for you to join them as
they endeavor to fulfill the university's mission statement.
