Student Leadership
Welcome
Dear Eagles,
I am excited to welcome you to Concordia University Irvine! Whether this will be your first year or you are a returning student, this year promises to be one of growth, unforgettable experiences, and a time to discover what it means to be “Rooted” in the Concordia community.
College provides a place where you can take risks while being surrounded by people who genuinely care about you. I would like to encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The students, faculty, and staff of Concordia all have the same goal in mind: becoming wise, honorable, and cultivated individuals. With all of the opportunities that Concordia provides for you to grow, you will be able to find your place to help you do just that.
My prayer is that you all develop the same passion for this university that I have grown to have over my first three years here. In light of this passion, my team and I have decided the theme for this year will be Rooted. As we are rooted in the Concordia community, we strive to grow to be the people that God has created us to be. We see three major themes of what we are rooted in here at Concordia: our service, our spirit, and our tradition. Being a university that follows the calling of the Great Commission and the Lutheran Confessions, we want to ignite a passion for what it means to be rooted in this community.
Our theme verse is Colossians 2:6-7, "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Our goal this year is to increase our passion for serving each other and our community, to stir each other to share the same spirit of Concordia pride, and to continue to share in Concordia traditions, as well as creating new ones.
I am so excited to see what God has in store for this year, and I hope you are too. Don’t hold back this year. Discover what you were created for.
In Christ,

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
