Sara Fletcher is an artist originally from Western New York State. She joined the faculty of Concordia last fall and teaches studio art courses and the Core Exploration course Experiences in Art. Before Concordia, Professor Fletcher taught Studio Art at Missouri Valley College. Fletcher exhibits paintings, drawings, and prints. She had a solo show in New York, “Preparations,” at Prince Street Gallery in 2019. She is currently completing a commissioned painting for the chapel of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago. Two ongoing interests for her are how imagination and nature influence each other and how art can engage us in a conversation across times and cultures.
Hello! I am Barbara Howard and I am an Assistant Professor and the Director of Assessment and Accreditation for the School of Education. I found my home and true vocation when I came to Concordia University in 2004 and it has been a joy to serve here ever since. Now I am thrilled to serve alongside this great team as a Faculty Fellow.
Dr. Catherine Webb is a Professor of Education at Concordia University Irvine. Dr. Webb serves as a generalist teaching in both the MAEd and Ed.D programs. Dr. Webb is the Director of the MAED Administration program and Chair of the EdD. Administration Specialization. She serves as the CalAPA Coordinator and serves on several CUI committees. Dr. Webb served as a K-8 teacher, special education teacher, site administrator, and district administrator for over 15 years in California and Arizona. She holds a Clear Administrative Services credential and Clear Teaching credential in both states. Dr. Webb defended her dissertation on the efficacy of professional learning communities and the impact school improvement initiatives have on student academic achievement. Dr. Webb’s expertise lies in curriculum, instruction and assessment, administration, and technology.
Greetings! My name is Sara Morgan. I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Education. I am a dual-credentialed teacher with a B.A. in Communications, an M.A. in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Disability Studies. I taught in the public school system for eleven years before becoming a member of the full-time faculty at Concordia University in 2012. I primarily teach in the credential program, serving students who desire to obtain multiple subjects, single subjects, and education specialist credentials. My research interest areas include:
Dr. Schuler has lived and served in higher education in both China and the United States. She has served in various roles at Concordia’s graduate division since 2008 in teaching, research, new program development,program management, program assessment, curriculum design, student recruitment, program branding, student advising and retention, budgeting and marketing.
Dr. Schuler also worked seven years in a US high tech company as senior global accounts manager between 2004-2011. She is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English. She has published and presented at various conferences over the years.
Business consultation in building bridges across cultures is one of her fortes. She is passionate about and experienced at guiding organizations improve its culture, performance and ultimately be market sustainable and impactful to the various communities the organization is part of.
She is a long term volunteer at her church and at her local nature conservancy organizations. Dr. Schuler is a proud mother of two adult children, Michael and Michelle. In her spare time, you’d most likely find her outdoors mountaineering, trail running, rock climbing, biking, hiking and backpacking.
Monique Nunes (affectionately known to students as “Ms. Mo”) is an educational leader with a background in both public and Lutheran education. Monique serves as the Associate Dean of Student Engagement. Her role oversees student housing, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coach, working with students on crucial conversations and racial reconciliation and unity endeavors. A gifted public speaker whose musical talents are often infused in her pedagogy, she has presented at numerous conferences and events across the country.
In her previous role as Associate Director of Multicultural Programs and Campus Ministry at Valparaiso University she championed innovative new programs designed for diverse student populations. For example, she implemented the Women of Worth (WOW) series where she prompted self-worth and cultural awareness. As Dean of Students at Concordia University, Nebraska students knew her as a cheerleader, motivator, and disciplinarian. Most recently, as the Senior Director of Student Experience at Concordia College, New York she oversaw all aspects of student life on campus.
Monique Nunes holds a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University Ann Arbor and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Administration from Webster University. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She and her husband, Concordia College New York president, John Arthur.
