Fitness programming involves designing exercise and wellness plans that help individuals improve their physical health, performance, and overall well-being. In the Fitness Programming minor, you’ll explore topics related to exercise, strength training, lifestyle wellness, and healthy living while building practical skills you can apply in a variety of fitness and health settings.
What do you learn in a fitness programming minor?
A Fitness Programming minor helps you develop foundational knowledge in exercise, health and wellness, and physical conditioning. At Concordia University Irvine, the minor includes two required courses and four electives, allowing you to customize your studies based on your interests and goals. Coursework may include Principles of Weight Training and Cross Training, Exercise and Gerontology, and Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness.
What careers relate to fitness programming and wellness?
Fitness programming skills can support careers in wellness programs, coaching, recreation, community health, sports performance, and other health and wellness fields. You may also pair this minor with majors such as kinesiology or coaching to broaden your understanding of exercise, fitness, and overall well-being while preparing to help others live healthier lives.
