Dr. Tim Young is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education and a full-time faculty member in the Ed.D. in Leadership program. In this role, he teaches foundational doctoral coursework—including Leadership for Whole System Reform and the Dissertation Seminar Series—and serves as a dissertation chair, guiding candidates through advanced research. He also leads the annual Law, Policy, and Practice in Dynamic Settings immersive experiential trip to Washington, D.C., preparing doctoral students to navigate high-stakes policy environments.

Dr. Young brings extensive leadership experience in higher education administration, university operations, change management, and strategic planning. Prior to his current faculty appointment, he served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Operations at Vanguard University, where he oversaw student development initiatives and campus operations focused on student success and inclusive excellence. His foundational work in K–12 education as a teacher and school counselor spans Lutheran schools, comprehensive high schools, and alternative education programs.

Beyond his university work, Dr. Young is an active consultant in strategic planning and organizational development for churches and nonprofits, advising leadership teams on mission alignment and operational effectiveness. He is also the founder of The Joshua Foundation for Christian Mentoring, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and mentoring Christian leaders.
