Biography
Rachel Soo serves as the Chair of the Visual Arts Department, a Professor of Graphic Design, and the Curator of the Art Gallery at Concordia University Irvine. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Visual Art from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, Nebraska.
Her pedagogical expertise centers on technical mastery and professional readiness in graphic design, digital media, illustration, and typography. As a dedicated mentor, she guides students through rigorous portfolio reviews and oversees on-campus graphic design practicums, providing students with vital industry experience.
Rachel’s creative practice includes collage, watercolor mixed media, ink paintings, surface pattern design, and typeface design.
