Mark Newmeyer

Biography

Dr. Mark Newmeyer is a licensed professional clinical counselor and supervisor with over twenty-five years of clinical, consulting, and leadership experience in mental health services, addictions, trauma, and counselor education. He has worked extensively at the intersection of clinical practice, research, and training, with a particular interest in assessment, research design, and the formation of counselors and scholars.

Dr. Newmeyer is a professional member of the American Counseling Association, which recognized his contributions by honoring him as an Emerging Leader in 2004. His scholarly and professional work reflects a commitment to faith-integration, methodological rigor, and thoughtful application of theory and practice in counseling.

Outside of his academic and clinical work, Dr. Newmeyer is an endurance runner who has completed multiple marathons and ultramarathons, including 12 and 24 hour runs. He often draws on lessons from long-distance running—patience, persistence, and disciplined preparation—as metaphors for both research and professional formation.
