Dr. Malikah Nu’Man is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at Concordia University Irvine and an educational leader with extensive experience in special education, restorative practices, and systems-level program development.

In addition to her role in higher education, Dr. Nu’Man serves as Coordinator of the Sequoia Program within the William S. Hart Union High School District, a specialized setting supporting students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs. She provides instructional leadership, oversees IEP systems, supervises staff, leads crisis response planning, and partners with families and community agencies to strengthen student outcomes.

Prior to her site-based leadership, Dr. Nu’Man served as a SELPA Program Specialist for the Santa Clarita Valley SELPA, supporting multiple districts in compliance, program development, behavior intervention planning, inclusive practices, and systems improvement. She has also held roles as a Restorative Justice Teacher Advisor, Science Department Chair, Emotional Disturbance Teacher, Inclusion Specialist, Behavior Intervention Case Manager, and Transition Teacher across diverse school communities.

Her professional journey includes service in urban and high-need settings across Los Angeles County, where she developed peer mediation programs, restorative practice initiatives, and inclusive instructional systems that served hundreds of students.

Dr. Nu’Man’s leadership philosophy is grounded in restorative principles, equity-driven systems design, and trauma-informed educational practices. She is committed to strengthening collaboration among educators, families, and communities to improve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes.
