Dr. Helene Cunningham served as a school principal for 18 years. In 2013, she was blessed to be named the National Distinguished Principal of California. She was the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for 11 years at the district office, as well as Arts Coordinator. She has been an Adjunct Professor at CUI, teaching EDD 701 and 702, as well as being a Servant Leadership Coach, and serving on dissertation committees as a field expert and Chair. She has led as a coach, mentor, and speaker on education, professional development, leadership, writing, assessment, and being a change agent. She is a published author, with her book The Art of Principation: How the Role of the Principal has Changed (2016), as well as other publications on retaining staff, and child development. Dr. C’s passion is making a difference for all education partners, and for students from childhood to adult learners.

Helene Cunningham serves as a dissertation chair for Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) students and advises doctoral research aligned with program requirements.
