Caroline Wong

Caroline Wong serves as an Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies and Newspaper Advisor at Concordia University Irvine. She brings extensive professional experience in marketing, media production, and digital content strategy, rooted in a distinguished career in Southern California’s media landscape.

Before entering academia, Professor Wong served as Project Director for Marketing & Special Events at The Orange County Register, as well as Project Manager for the newspaper’s iPad team, where she helped lead innovative digital initiatives. Her broadcast experience includes roles as Senior Promotions Producer for KTTV FOX 11 and MY13 Los Angeles, and as a Marketing Producer for FOX 11 and Fox Sports Net West.

Professor Wong’s teaching is shaped by her research interest in understanding how audiences consume news in a platform-agnostic media environment, an increasingly critical area in contemporary journalism and communication studies.

She is highly engaged with Concordia’s student journalists and frequently joins them on reporting assignments. As she puts it: “Great things are happening at Concordia, and we have the privilege of capturing them in our student newspaper, The Concordia Courier.”
