Caroline Rae

Biography

Dr. Caroline Rae is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Concordia University Irvine. She began her nursing career in adult medical-surgical care and later worked as a critical care nurse before transitioning into academia. Her teaching career started as an adjunct clinical instructor at Golden West College, and she joined Concordia full time in 2014.

At CUI, Dr. Rae teaches across foundational and clinical courses, coordinates the Nursing Skills Lab and Open Lab, and supports students in adult medical-surgical clinical instruction. She completed the Watson Caring Science Institute’s Caritas Coach® Education Program, which informs her holistic and relationship-centered approach to nursing education. She serves on the Academic Student & Faculty Affairs Committee and advises Concordia’s Nursing Student Association.

Dr. Rae is also deeply engaged in community service and emergency preparedness. She has served as Chairperson of the Advisory Board for the Orange County Medical Reserve Corps, as a Captain with Anaheim’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and as a Red Cross volunteer. She is certified as a Stop the Bleed instructor and as a CPR/BLS instructor.

A founding member of Psi Theta-at-Large, Concordia’s chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, she currently serves as Vice President. Previously, she completed two terms as Chairperson for the Orange County/Long Beach Consortium for Nursing.
