Bryan Santin

Biography

Bryan M. Santin is Associate Professor of English, joint faculty in the Department of History and Political Thought, and Concordia’s Director of General Education. He teaches courses in American literature, world literature, American history, political theory, and constitutional law. His research interests focus primarily on twentieth- and twenty-first century American literature, politics, and law, especially in relation to race and ethnicity.

He is the author of Postwar American Fiction and the Rise of Modern Conservatism: A Literary History, 1945–2008 (Cambridge University Press, Hardcover 2021; Paperback 2023). Also, he is the editor of The Cambridge Companion to the Twentieth-Century American Novel and Politics (Cambridge University Press, 2023). He has published widely in venues such as Christianity & Literature, American Quarterly, Post45 Contemporaries, and several edited anthologies, with articles on James Baldwin, Don DeLillo, William T. Vollmann, and Toni Morrison, among others.
