Biography
Alaina Schrader is a counselor educator, licensed professional counselor, and nationally recognized speaker with experience in K–12 schools, higher education, and clinical mental health settings. She currently serves as adjunct faculty in graduate counseling programs and has previously worked as a school counselor, therapist, and educator. In addition to her teaching and clinical work, Alaina presents nationally for schools, universities, and professional organizations on topics related to neurodiversity, executive functioning, school counseling, and neuroscience-informed mental health practices. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine.
Alaina’s teaching and counseling philosophy is grounded in compassion, creativity, curiosity, and practical application. She is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, as well as preparing future counselors to approach mental health through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relational lens.
Known for her engaging and approachable teaching style, Alaina enjoys helping students connect theory to real-world counseling practice through storytelling, creativity, humor, and experiential learning. Her professional interests include executive functioning, ADHD, autism, attachment, emotional regulation, counselor development, and innovative approaches to counselor education and training.
