Biology
The Biology Department at Concordia University, Irvine, seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions starting as early as August 2020. The department strives to develop wise and honorable citizens capable of excelling as witnesses of Christ and in their vocations within the biological sciences or elsewhere. Pursuant to this mission, we seek candidates who can articulate the interconnection between their faith and their scientific pursuit to understand the natural world and have technical expertise within the biological sciences. Responsibilities will include teaching introductory and/or upper-division courses, which often include lecture and lab time. Possible course topics vary - a list of courses offered is available in the CUI catalog. Additional participation as an undergraduate student research advisor is possible.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to a Lutheran liberal arts education and teaching excellence. Candidates should possess an earned doctorate or a master’s degree in a relevant field.

Nursing
Seeking part-time instructors who have an earned a minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferably with two specialties from the following: medical/surgical, pediatrics, maternal/child, psychiatric/mental health and gerontology. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses, supervising clinical instruction, and advising. While applications from all areas of nursing will be considered, preference will be given to candidates poised to excel in nursing education and working with students.

Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Instructor
Immediate opening for a part-time psychiatric/mental health clinical instructor who has earned a a minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with current nursing practice in this area of expertise. Responsibilities will include direct supervision of students in the clinical setting, advising, and participation in orientation for self and students to the health care facility.
