Biography
Dr. Kossi Makpayo is a Professor of Economics at Concordia University Irvine. Prior to joining Concordia, he taught and mentored students for ten years at Marymount California University. He is passionate about teaching and always looks forward to helping students attain their academic goals.
Dr. Makpayo holds a Ph.D. in Economics (International Economics and Applied Econometrics) from Suffolk University, Boston, MA; a Master’s degree (D.E.A.) in Economics (Money, Finance, Banking, and International Economics) from the University of Senegal (UCAD); and a B.A. (Maîtrise) in Economics (Mathematics, Statistics, and Econometrics) from the University of Bamako, Mali.
He has taught Economics for Planning, Global Entrepreneurship & Economic Development, Statistics for Decision Making & Modeling, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, People, Profit, Planet, and Perspectives on Global Development at Marymount California University. Prior to MCU, he taught at Siena College (NY), Northeastern University, and Suffolk University.
Dr. Makpayo has been voted Outstanding Faculty of the Year twice by MCU students and received multiple teaching excellence recognitions, including the Award of Teaching Excellence from Suffolk University.
